Show Bird: Annie Dunning and Ron Tran
Included in the exhibition are Annie Dunning’s video-sculptural installation Air Time (2007) and Ron Tran’s site-specific video The Peckers (2004). Both Dunning and Tran have created collaborative video works with the help of their flighty Pigeon friends. This exhibition brings into light the collaboration between artist and pigeon as an art making practice but also, on a larger scale, examines the ongoing relationship between pigeons and humans and what innovative ideas it can offer. Pigeon lover or hater, you definitely be surprised and amazed! This exhibition is part of the Symposium of Art: to face the world out on my own again organized jointly by the Owens Art Gallery and Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts.
